The Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court has an online index search subscription available. With this subscription a user can conduct searches using a web browser and an internet connection. As a user you will be responsible for obtaining your own internet service.

As of July 1, 2007, the subscription allows you access to two websites. The first is the qGov Index Search which allows the following:

• Index searches for Conveyance records from January 1, 1966 to present, Mortgage records from January 1, 1948 to present and Criminal records from January 1, 1986 to present.
• Viewing and printing of Mortgage and Conveyance document images from January 1, 1983 to present. Mortgage and Conveyance instruments filed prior to January, 1983 are being redacted. Public access will be allowed as the images are redacted.

The second site is the Civil Index Search. This site allows the following:

• Civil Index Searches from January 1, 1986 to Present.
• Viewing and printing of Civil document images from May 29, 2006 to present. Pleadings filed prior to May 29, 2006 are being redacted. Public access will be allowed as the images are redacted.
• Civil Index Searches from March 8, 1965 to May 12, 1966.
• Viewing and printing of Civil Suit Numbers 33825 through 36368. Our office is back-scanning Civil suits. Public access will be allowed as the images are redacted.

The cost of the subscription is $65.00 per month and an additional $1.00 per printed page for Mortgage and Conveyance documents in the qGov Index Search website. The monthly subscription and printing fees incurred will be charged to your account and you will be billed monthly. There is no additional fee for viewing or printing Civil pleadings in the Civil Index Search Website or for viewing Mortgage and Conveyance documents in the qGov Index Search Website.
